So, last night I learnt the hard way that it is possible to drink too much gin! I thought I was invincible but sadly not. I will not embarrass myself any further but needless to say I had a bit of a sore head this morning.

Anyway moving on.....the few days have been busy so I haven't been out and about with my camera  since my morning with the milliner. However,  before I go off to bed to rest my head (I'm a poet and I didn't know it!), I will leave you this, which I took last night in downtown Manhattan (pre-gin!). ;)

My Morning at a Milliners

Behind an unsuspecting grey door, located off a back street in Gowanus, lies the bustling studio of milliner Tracy Watts.  The second floor studio was full to the rafters of hats, all at different stages of their life. It was a sensory delight as there was so much to see and touch, from the bright colours of the hat ribbons to the smooth texture of the wooden hat blocks.  There was also the background noise of the machinery, which to me, now being in the industry that I’m in, indicates that something beautiful is being created. On a normal day the hum of a sewing machine would signal the emergence of a handbag but today it was a lovely straw hat, perfect for summer.

It was really interesting and I felt very grateful to be able to visit the studio with my camera. Thank you Tracy!

Wiltshire, Plymouth & Key Limes Pies

This morning I donned my new, awesome birthday prezzie, The Wiltshire Bag, and set off to explore Carroll Gardens.

The Wiltshire Bag

A friend suggested that I checked out the Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain and I'm glad I made the visit!

Don't you just love perspective.

I'd just like to add that I haven't increased the saturation on this photo, it really was this vivid!

Getting creative with today's Snapple!

Back in Red Hook....

(Bottom left hand corner....)

I took lots more pics but I fear you may be getting photography fatigue, so I will leave you with just one last photo in order to confirm that my gin supplies have been replenished! Phew!

A gin close to home.

Cheers and goodnight.
